Level – Teens (Senior School – Year 10 to Year 12)

This exciting short course is designed to unleash the creativity of teens by helping them to further their creative and narrative thinking when designing their own characters.

Through a combination of theory and hands-on projects, students will explore the fundamentals of visual storytelling, character development, and the creation of immersive fictional worlds. By the end of this course, students will have a strong foundation in character design and world building, and will have grown in their own unique artistic style.

  • Graphite pencils (Mechanical, HB + 2B)
  • Sketchbook (A3 or A4)
  • Erasers (both hard and kneadable)


  • Digital drawing device  (fully charged)
  • Further Materials can be used/provided by the student if they choose them for their projects



Alex Beckinsale is an emerging artist whose work is inspired by strange narratives, folklore, and popular culture. She graduated from Adelaide Central School of Art with a Bachelor of Visual Art (Honours) in 2016. She focuses on figurative art and portraiture, often constructing otherworldly and mysterious situations in her work.
