Join artist Caitlin Bowe and discover the fundamental drawing and design techniques to create your own unique fantasy and science-fiction characters.
This course will focus on some fun and exciting ways to draw inspiration from popular culture. Looking at different visual styles present in animation, movies and concept art, students will be taken through a range of activities that will spark their imagination and get them to create their own unique artworks and characters.
This course is perfect for beginner to intermediate level students. It will focus on developing technical ability and drawing confidence, equipping students with the necessary skills to create their own successful and creative drawings.

Materials required:
A3 sketchbook, HB, 2B, 4B + 6B graphite pencils, hard eraser, kneadable eraser, charcoal, rag, 2 large + 3 small soft brushes, and 2x A1 pieces of cartridge paper.

 

Caitlin Bowe is an emerging artist based in Kaurna Country, Adelaide. Working in the field of sculpture, Bowe utilises textiles and life casting techniques to create visual objects which tie together personal experience and ancestral mythology. Focusing on myths and superstitions from her own Celtic and English ancestry, creating layers of meaning in order to be situated amongst a larger cultural narrative. Employing a Gothic Victorian aesthetic to create beautifully unsettling works which magnify and exaggerate bodily fears.
