By the end of this course, students will have a strong foundation in character design and world building, and will have grown in their own unique artistic style.

*Please be aware that there are a number of self-directed projects in this course. If your teen is wanting more direction and tuition on different techniques and materials, we recommend the Tuesday night classes.

A3 sketchbook
Mechanical pencil, hard + kneadable eraser, coloured pencils, charcoal, a rag or old pillow case, optional – iPad with Procreate or Sketchbook installed (or a laptop with a tablet + similar digital art software), students will also be invited to bring their own drawing kit with materials of their choice.

Alex Beckinsale is an emerging artist whose work is inspired by strange narratives, folklore, and popular culture. She graduated from Adelaide Central School of Art with a Bachelor of Visual Art (Honours) in 2016. She focuses on figurative art + portraiture, and often constructs otherworldly and mysterious situations in her work. When she is not making in her studio, Alex can often be found sketching characters from D&D campaigns, her favourite TV shows and video games.
