We live in a unique geological epoch, one in which human beings are the primary influence on the climate and the wider global environment. It has been proposed that this period should be labelled the Anthropocene.

You are a Habitat examines what it means to live in the Anthropocene and explores the vast and complex network of symbiotic relationships that humans share with all manner of organisms.

From the bacteria in your gut to the tree in your garden and from the family dog to a field of wheat – all these organisms are profoundly shaped by human influence. The artists in this exhibition pose challenging questions about humanity’s role in the biosphere: are we hunter or host, prey or parasite?
