Shack plays on the notion of something quickly constructed or temporary. In the literal sense, James Dodd will be building a timber structure on the grounds of the school that will become a focal site for outdoor painting during the residency period. Dodd will be pursuing ongoing experiments into the use of mechanical drawing and painting interfaces, using aerosol as a primary output. He will also occupy the gallery space as a site for further testing and consideration.
Audiences are invited at all points to view outcomes and processes as they develop. A closing event will be held at the culmination of the project.
Components of this project have been supported by Arts SA.
