PUNCH

Adelaide Central Gallery | Open Monday-Friday 9-5pm

PUNCH, a solo exhibition of new work by Jingwei Bu.
Now showing graduate Jingwei Bu’s solo exhibition PUNCH, which opened on Tuesday 3 June.

Danni Zuvela, Director of Adelaide Contemporary Experimental opened the exhibition.

Jingwei Bu’s new solo exhibition of work draws together elements of sculpture, performance, and moving image, as well as intense material investigation. Arising from her recent mentorship with esteemed Australian artist Lindy Lee, this show draws together many of the different strands of Jingwei’s practice to contemplate ideas of language, miscommunication, and the experience of new migrants. The exhibition will feature a performance piece, as Jingwei evolves her process of hammering text into large metal sheets.

Exhibition text by graduate Jazmine Deng.

Student exhibition Transform also opened on this night in the teaching building, with Head of Sculpture and Contemporary Studies Nic Folland who opened the exhibition.

Exhibition dates: Tuesday 3 June – Friday 11 July
