Façade

Façade

Façade

Façade (12 February – 9 March) is an installation by multi-disciplinary artist Fiona Roberts (SA). Robert’s unsettling work will occupy the entirety of Adelaide Central Gallery, representing the first time a solo exhibition of works from a graduate of the School will be held in the Gallery.

Roberts graduated from the School with a Bachelor of Visual Art with Honours in 2011. Her work is known for its disturbing depictions of body parts such as eyes, mouths, fingers and hair, and their incorporation into household furnishings and everyday items.

Façade will focus on the conflict between perceptions and reality, particularly in relation to the viewers’ mind, body and home. There will be an emphasis on the unintended and adverse effects that often result from an historic and contemporary obsession with embellishing, modifying and concealing reality.
