ArtSpeak: Public Art as a Catalyst for Urban Renewal

Join us for a special ArtSpeak with Hector Alvarado Gonzalez, Public Art and Urban Renewal researcher for an invigorating talk on public art.

The city has been a stage for artists to manifest themselves through art for centuries. But What is the role of public art then? Should artists have a task in making the city? Although public art has been present for centuries, it is relatively recently when public art has been considered and recognized for its role in revitalizing and renewing the city.

The city of Barcelona is a case recognized worldwide for the role that its artistic manifestation has played in significant urban renewal projects.

Let’s do a review of Barcelona’s public art and history, and a brainstorm approach to Adelaide public art policies.

I'd like to attend
