Ash Tower

Lecturer, Art History & Theory

He/him

Ash Tower is an artist and cultural studies scholar working at the intersection of art, science, and technology. He completed his Bachelor of Visual Art [Honours] at the Adelaide Central School of Art in 2014, and went on to complete a Ph.D. on laboratory spaces in art/science collaborations at the University of South Australia in 2018.

His sculpture/installation practice has typically addressed the constraints of knowledge systems like libraries, museums, and civic infrastructure, though more recently it has incorporated games culture and references to Western architectural history (a subject he teaches at UniSA). Ash has exhibited work nationally and published theoretical work internationally, most recently contributing a chapter to Gender: Time published by Macmillan Interdisciplinary Handbooks in 2018.

We acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of country throughout Australia and acknowledge their continuing connection to land, water and community.

We pay our respects to the people, the cultures and the elders past, present and emerging.
